Hello all!
We are doing well here in Venezuela. We are just about finished with our 5 district assemblies in 5 weekends. This year I only made it to 4, I was really sick with the flu one weekend and stayed home. I am fine now and was so grateful for the weekend at home alone to get caught up on a million things. The assemblies have been remarkable. The districts are growing and God is moving among the people in all the districts.
The biggest news of the month is that my computer is DEAD!!! According to the technician the mother board and some power thing is fried. The good news is that my OLD computer was sill in the office. I kept it with the intentions of taking it with us when we have classes at the camp so that the students could use it. The computer had some issues when I tried to change it to Spanish, so it was just sitting in my office until I could figure out what I would do. God knew I was going to need it. Well, it works fine, slower than molasses but it’s something. The bad news was that I couldn’t get any of the office applications (word, excel, etc) to work so as helpful as it was I really couldn’t do any work on it. Well, my good friends Jesus and Edmares just happened to be in town visiting his mom! GOD is amazing! Jesus is a computer genius and he has been in San Diego twice this year, and the second time was when I had serious computer issues with NO idea how to fix them. Jesus came over and in about 2 hours had the computer working enough so that I could work on it!
This has been a good learning experience for me! Showing me that I can trust God with everything even my computer! I think I must have prayed for patience though because every little bit I have to learn something new about this OLD computer to get it to run correctly. Praise the Lord for the ways He provides for me! Please pray that I would continue to have faith and patience as this computer mess is worked out! There is no fixing the new broken computer so I am looking at having to purchase a new one.
Praise the Lord a new computer is on it’s way with the Mt. Vernon University Work and Witness Team.
New Job!
I have a new responsibility this year. I am now in charge of the Child Sponsorship program in Venezuela. It means a lot of translating work and a lot of communication between people here in Venezuela, the director in Argentina and the program head quarters in Kansas City. It’s a fun job! I pray that I will learn the job quickly and serve the children of Venezuela well!
