What Kind of Soil are you?

At the Llanos District Assembly Gail was invited to preach. She preached from the Parable about the seed that is scattered on the different kinds of soil. First the hard packed path symbolized by the pan turned upside down. Second, on the shallow soil where you can grow for awhile but your roots do not go down very far. Third, in the soil with weeds. You can grow for a awhile but will get choked out by the weeds. Lastly, the fertile soil. Where you can be planted, your roots can go deep and you have all the room you need to grow. The point was what are you doing now to tend to the soil of your soul. Are you in the word so that your soil is weed free, ready for more seeds? or is is weedy with the pressures of life choking out your growth?
The service ended with an opportunity to plant yourself in the last kind of soil. It was a great illustration of the parable.
